The Artist’s Deception, the Artist’s Truth
In the pantheon of notable painters and general artistic forces Santa Barbara over the past half century, Irma Cavat occupies a special place. A fine and passionate artist, with a cultural root system going back to early Modernist icons, Cavat also boasted the distinction of having been a rare woman in the once far more male-dominated realm of art academia. She brought along her breadth of wisdom and practical artistic tutelage on the art faculty at UCSB. Irma also held solo and group exhibitions from Santa Barbara, Montecito, San Francisco, New Mexico, NY, LA, Italy, Greece, Haiti, Paris to England. This and More!
